DAML Threshold Increase

The Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) (Threshold Amount) (Amendment) Order 2025 comes into force on 31st of July 2025.

The Order increases the Defence Against Money Laundering (DAML) threshold under section 339A of Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 to £3,000 (previously £1,000).

Notaries are expected to update their processes but remain alert to the potential risk of split transactions that come under the £3,000 threshold.
