Supporting the UK’s FATF Mutual Evaluation: Call for Case Studies

Why case studies are needed

The UK is preparing for its upcoming Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Mutual Evaluation. As part of this process, HM Treasury is seeking real-world case studies that show how the UK’s economic crime framework delivers results in practice.

The evidence submitted to the FATF assessment team will help demonstrate how contributors across the economic crime system implement measures effectively, including the important role played by the legal profession.

What notaries can contribute

Notaries are encouraged to share examples of effective anti-money laundering and economic crime measures, especially where these demonstrate:

  • Tangible outcomes
  • Innovation in approach or delivery
  • Collaboration across organisations or sectors
  • Wider effectiveness within the economic crime system

Submission details

Case studies should ideally relate to activity from 2022 onwards, with more recent examples preferred. Submissions will strengthen the UK’s written evidence and support engagement with industry ahead of the onsite assessment, when the FATF assessment team will meet directly with private sector representatives.

The secure and confidential submission platform will remain open until 7 September 2026.
